Preparation for House League Coaches and Trainers:
*all staff and other volunteers: managers and dressing room moms

To get started as a coach or other volunteer (manager/trainer/dressing room mom) in the CGHA house league program, please obtain the following:

  1. Register as coach or staff on RAMP
  2. Police Check with the Vulnerable Sector Search
  3. Respect In Sports for Activity Leaders
  4. Please also review the Volunteer Screening Policy (OWHA)

Trainers:
In addition to meeting the requirements of 1-3 above, trainers are required to complete Trainers Level 1
Reimbursements can be submitted to via the online form, under Reimbursements. 

House League Convenors

The Clarington Girls Hockey Association is proud to introduce house league Convenors to our association and we are looking for volunteers that want to inspire and lead change in women's hockey now, and for the future. The CGHA is looking for Convenors that will empower and inspire athletes in teamwork, fun, and fair play - while providing an environment that encompasses inclusion, leadership, and community.

Responsibilities:

- Act as a liaison between all members of a hockey team and the CGHA Executive Board.
- Maintain CGHA guidelines and policies in conjunction with the OWHA and the Ontario Hockey Federation.
- Be knowledgeable of the rules and regulations as determined by the CGHA and OWHA.
- Ensure coaches and bench staff obey the playing rules and regulations.
- Foster a positive and inclusive culture that encompasses the values and ethics set by the CGHA and OWHA.
- Be visible by attending games, practices, tournaments, and events to ensure the objectives of the CGHA are being met.
- Mediate conflicts and disputes between team members, parents, coaches, and other stakeholders, keeping documentation of such.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols during all events and activities.
- Collaborate with fellow coaches, parents, and association officials.
